OPTI Midwest Championship in Milwaukee – 2009

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Milwaukee Yacht Club is hosting the USODA (Optimists) Midwest Championship Regatta October 9-12.

MYC needs volunteers to help with this event.  They anticipate between 120 and 150 sailors will register for the event and will arrive accompanied by parents and coaches.  MYC needs volunteers to help with registration on Friday, October 9.  Saturday, Sunday and Monday volunteers will be serving breakfast and passing out lunch in the morning before the sailors go out on the water.  They also have a dinner planned on Saturday night.  Steve Dolan is organizing the Safety boats and can also use some help.  Other volunteer opportunities are available for as much or as little time you can spare.  High school age volunteers are most welcome.

If you can help out with this regatta please contact Pam at info@milwaukeeyc.com, Susan Becker at skoethe@mcw.edu or Ed Purcell at epurcell@ameritech.net .  This should be a very lively and fun event.

REMINDER – Labor Day Club Closing Party 8am – 2009

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

A reminder for all hands on Deck to help close down the club.  Thank you to those that have responded already.  Our  Instructor team is almost all gone and thus we, the membership,  need to finish putting the Club to bed for the season.  Join your leadership, bring your gloves and a smile on Labor Day Sept. 7th at 8am.  With enough hands we will make short order of the work, then hang out and cook the hot dogs and burgers the Instructors left for us!  Thank you in advance if you can join us even for just a bit!
