The EYC Needs Eagle’s Cry Back Issues

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

The EYC’s online archive of its Eagle’s Cry newsletter goes back as far as the Fall 2001 issue.  The club’s own paper files do not include any issues prior to that.

The EYC needs copies of back issues of the Eagle’s Cry prior to Fall 2001.  We will scan those old issues and post them on the EYC website.

Help us build the EYC online historical archives!  If you have old copies of the Eagle’s Cry, please contact Jay Lott jaylott01@gmail.com

Peder Knudson Trophy Winner Names Needed

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Unfortunately the EYC’s permanent Peder Knudson Trophy (awarded to the highest finishing husband and wife team in the Flying Scot class at the Ephraim Regatta) has been missing for several years.  The EYC will replace this trophy in 2011.

We want to engrave the names of all previous winners on the new trophy.  We know the winners as far back as 2001.  If you know who won the Peder Knudson trophy in any year prior to 2001, please contact EYC Commodore Marsella Fults marsellafults@gmail.com

The EYC has the Most Scenic Bridge

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

The EYC has a lot of enthusiastic Bridge players, and hosts several Bridge events each week from June through September, including Open Play, Couples Bridge, and Bridge lessons for experienced players.  EYC Bridge takes place in the clubhouse upstairs front room, with a spectacular view of Eagle Harbor.  Bridge is a great way for both sailors and non-sailors to socialize with their fellow EYC members!

If there is sufficient interest, in 2011 the EYC will also host Bridge lessons for beginners.

For more information, including the Bridge schedule, contact persons, and a sign-up sheet for Bridge lessons, go to www.eyc.org and click on “2011 Bridge Info”.
