The EYC is Looking for Senior Staff

EYC members – please help spread the word:  The EYC is taking applications for senior instructor / staff for the summer of 2011.  We have several positions available.  You do not have to be an EYC member to apply for these positions.

To be considered for this job, applicants who have not previously worked on the EYC staff must have completed their freshman year of college by June, 2011.

The position is full-time and salaried.  Duties are primarily teaching junior sailors in the EYC’s large program (200+ students over the course of the summer and aprx. 14 instructors), but other duties may be involved, including general clubhouse duties and running races.  Desired start date is June 4, 2011 and the commitment is typically for 10 weeks, but start date and number of weeks may be adjusted by mutual agreement.

US Sailing Level I instructor certification is required.  CPR and First Aid certifications are required (it is possible that the EYC may provide CPR and/or First Aid seminars for instructors at the beginning of the employment period.)   The EYC reimburses instructors for the Level I Certification tuition at the completion of the instructor’s committed term of employment at the EYC.  Applicants should be experienced dinghy sailors.

College racing experience is preferred but not required.  US Sailing Level II instructor certification is helpful but not required.

Base salary is $445 / week plus $15 / week for each year of college sailing team participation.  Instructors with US Sailing Level II certification earn an additional $25/week.

Applicants who can provide their own housing in the Ephraim area are preferred.  Successful applicants who do not have housing in the Ephraim area will be housed at no charge by EYC members.

An applicant should have a cheerful, helpful, customer-oriented attitude.
