This week at EYC: Opti Regatta, Sunfish Regatta, First Mates potluck, Men’s Night and more!

Lessons and Camps!

Session C starts Monday, Sign up ASAP.

It’s the heart of the summer!  Session C begins on Monday with our widest selection of classes.  Opti Racing is open to any student who has taken one or more sessions of Beginner and is interested in improving racing skills.  Intro to Lasers is a great new option using the 4.7 rig and is perfect for those who have completed Beginner, but are too light for the 420s.  One week Adventure Sailing Camps are a fun way to be on the water for students who are not interested in or want to take a session off from the curriculum based classes.  In Adventure Sailing, ages 7-17 and all skill levels sail together!  Visit www.eyc.org/lessons for details and registration.  As always, feel free to contact [email protected] with any questions.

Saturday’s pre race chalk talk is with Jay Lott

What will he say?  The only way to know is to show up at 9:00 AM on Saturday the 9th and hear it for yourself.  Next up, Woody Heidler will deliver the July 16th Chalk Talk.

Regattas! Regattas! Regattas!

EYC Club Series

We had some record turnouts over the 4th of July weekend, including 14 Flying Scots on Saturday, 11 420s on Sunday and 7 Lasers on Friday (despite the no wind delay). Provisional series results are now posted at the 2016 Racing and Regatta Results tab that may be found at http://ephraimyc.wpengine.com/racing/

First Annual GeezerGatta Results

We had 10 staff alumni participate either as skipper or crew in our first GeezerGatta. The overall winner was Roger Waleffe, beating Teddy Papenthien by only 1 point. Our “Roadrunner” award goes to Rich Hall, who was the oldest alumni participating, and Commodore Sibylle Tasker won the top finishing woman alumni skipper award. Feedback was positive, so we will plan earlier for next year.

EYC Pickleball
