Instructor Housing Opportunities

Would you like to spend more time with the EYC’s helpful, polite, neat, erudite, charming, lovable Director Alex Zalar?  You are in luck!  We need housing for him this summer.  You can choose two weeks or all summer.  First come, first served.  He arrives in early June and will be in Door County through mid-August.

We also have a new female instructor, Camille Morley, a student at St. Olaf’s College, who will need housing for the week of July 22 and possibly one other week.

Please join the dozens of other EYC members who have housed EYC instructors in past summers.  Your housing  helps the EYC attract and retain valuable instructors, and holds down our personnel costs.  At the same time you and your family can develop a rewarding relationship with an EYC instructor.

Sailing Lessons are Filling Up

Parents, enroll your junior sailor in EYC lessons as early as you can.  Space is limited, enrollment is running 60% ahead of 2011, and some of the most popular sessions and levels are 80% or more full.

Sign up now for Adult Sailing Lessons

If you are an adult EYC member who wants to learn to sail, or to improve existing sailing skills, the EYC has lessons for you!  The EYC offers both group and private lessons for adults.

EYC adult group lessons are geared to beginners or near-beginners.  They are offered in two formats:

*  Adult afternoon lessons are offered in one-week sessions, Monday through Friday, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM, each week beginning June 11 through August 17.  Price is $162.50 for 5 days (15 hours) of instruction.

*  Adult evening lessons are offered Thursday evenings from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, beginning June 28 through August 16.  You can sign up for four weeks ($130) or eight weeks ($260).

The EYC’s adult group lessons are designed to provide a relaxed, social learning atmosphere, and are taught in the EYC’s fleet of stable, easy-to-sail Flying Scots.

More advanced adult students, or adults who want to learn as quickly as possible, can take private lessons.  To sign up for private lessons, contact EYC Director Alex Zalar at the EYC after June 4.
