It’s official: The EYC is open for the season!
What does “open for the season” mean?
I’m so glad you asked! The EYC opened on Tuesday after Memorial Day, and that means members can come down and enjoy the waterfront property that your membership affords. It also means that you should clear your calendar because FS races start on June 9th, Bunco and Bridge both start the week of the 11th, and there’s a First Mates (ladies) wine event on June 11. The club will be staffed starting June 15th from 8:30-5 weekdays (later on race evenings) and 8:45 -5 on weekends during which time members can check out boats. That same weekend brings a steady clip of activities like the pancake breakfast, Fyr Ball Regatta and cookout, 420 and laser races, and then come lessons, camps, junior activities, men’s night, and more. The best place to get the scoop is on the EYC website, or the EYC calendar.
Lessons & Camps: Discounted pricing on Session A ends 2 pm tomorrow.
The Club will soon be buzzing with lessons and camps! Reminder of our new deadlines: If you are planning on registering for a class in Session A (June 18-22,) register by 2:00 pm this Friday, June 1st, to benefit from 2017 pricing. After that time, it is still possible to register, but the price will increase by $25/class. Session A is a one week session with Beginner and Adventure Sailing available in the mornings. For more details on classes, the registration policy and to register visit www.eyc.org/lessons.
Thanks to everyone who helped open the EYC on May 26th!
We had great weather and a great turnout! We were able to accomplish everything on our extensive work lists. We are very fortunate to have great volunteers as members of the EYC! As those who participate in the Spring and Fall work days know, there is always quite a lot to do! And, its a good way to catch up with old friends and to meet some new friends! Thanks to Jack O’Rourke for his work at the grill! The burgers, dogs and cookies hit the spot!
