This Week at EYC- July 24th. New Lesson Offerings, Ladies Regatta
So many opportunities for sailors old and new this week at EYC.
Yet another new class for EYC students! Would your student like some guidance in going through the Boater Education Card on-line course? This card is a requirement for powerboat (and jet ski) operators aged 12-26. There will be a one week, instructor-led class in the afternoons, beginning this Monday, July 27. This would be a perfect way to prepare for the following week’s Powerboat Skills class. Both classes are open to anyone age 12 to adult. Additionally, sections of the Powerboat Skills class can be opened in the mornings of the weeks of August 3-7 and August 10-14, as well as the afternoons of August 10-14, whenever there is a minimum of two students. This is a great class for parents and children to take together.
Additionally, this Saturday come out and learn more about Team Racing! The one day clinic will be held in 420’s and will be led by EYC Instructors, Isak Peterson and Zac Aasen.
Adult Group lessons continue to be offered the weeks of July 27 and August 3.
As always, private lessons are an excellent way to learn for both young and old. Contact Brian Ritter at the club to sign up for private lessons.
Please visit www.eyc.org/lessons for more details on all these offerings.

Team Racing Clinic! There will be a one day Team Racing Clinic offered on July 25, 2015. Please go to www.eyc.org/lessons to get more info on this exciting offering.
Did you know that Optimist racing is open to anyone through the age of 15? Many of our EYC sailors opt out of the Optis at an early age, losing out on the opportunity to develop skills and experience racing against peers, both here and outside the EYC. To help address this, we have a new offering-
The morning Racing Class in Session C, July 13-24, has been modified to be a specialty class focused Opti Racing. This class is open to students age 7 – 15 who have skippered in an EYC Opti Regatta. The class will run from 9 am till noon. The class will be taught by Zac Aasen, an EYC instructor, who races for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Sailing Team and has coached Optimist sailors throughout the Midwest. Zac will take students to the next level of Opti racing, and will cover starts, upwind and downwind strategy and racing rules. The class will run from 9 AM till noon and is limited to five students. To enroll, go to www.eyc.org/lessons and sign up for the Session C Racing class.
There are also still places in the Opti Clinic on July 9 and 10. This popular and fun clinic will be taught by Bobby Collins of the Chicago Yacht Club.
Private lessons have begun. Register for these by contacting Brian Ritter at the club at 920 854-7107.
Another section of Powerboat Skills has been added. There is one space in the morning class starting July 13 and two spaces in the afternoon class starting July 20.
Adventure Sailing is a brand new class option that is quickly filling up. It is offered from 1:30-4:30 the weeks of July 6, July 13, July 20, August 3 and August 10. This class is open to ages 7-17 and all skill levels.
The Women’s Sailing Class offered the week of July 20 will be taught by Ally Dykman, one of our capable new instructors. It meets from 1:30-4:30 each afternoon.
